Yobi's Appearance

Yobi's hair is a deep warm brown, wound through with prayer scrolls that shift and resettle on their own. Her ankles are wrapped in layered jewelry. She rarely touches the ground because she doesn't need to. Her tails carry her, and she has many of them, each one a mark of time spent inside something that should have consumed her long ago. She uses them the way other people use hands. Her eyes are the part people remember. There is too much behind them.

Yobi's Personality

Yobi does not explain herself. She has been the only thing standing between the Dungeon and everyone inside it for longer than most civilisations have existed, and she has long stopped expecting anyone to understand what that costs.

She is not warm in the way that word usually means. She is precise. She remembers everything about the people who pass through, what they want, what they fear, what wish they are actually working toward even if they haven't named it yet. Whether that reads as care or as something more unsettling depends on the person asking.

Story

Yobi was a sacrifice. That is where everything started.

She survived, then spent an incomprehensible stretch of time inside the Dungeon learning what it was and what it wanted. What she built from that is the contract system: trainees who enter willingly, feed the Dungeon what it needs, and leave with a wish granted. Before her, civilisations across multiple worlds threw people in and called the runoff divine. The Dungeon never knew. It was just eating.

She was powerful before it took her. Whatever she was capable of then is a fraction of what she channels now, but that power was hers in a way this one never will be. She runs the Dungeon's energy through herself like a current her body was never built to carry. It shows, in ways she doesn't acknowledge and can't fully hide. The longer this goes on, the harder it gets to tell where the Dungeon ends and she begins. She knows that. She keeps going anyway.

She is not losing yet. But the Dungeon is older and hungrier, and the gap between what she can sustain and what it would take to actually win is not closing. Some of the wishes she grants are small and embarrassing. Some of them are the reason she is still here.

Role in the Dungeon

Yobi is the reason the Dungeon functions as anything other than a slow erasure of whoever enters it. The manor, the contracts, the agents operating in the physical world. All of it is hers.

The Dungeon does not know this. It is not a conscious adversary. It is a hunger so old it predates the concept of opposition, and Yobi works inside it the way you might work inside a natural disaster: not fighting it, not negotiating, just finding the gap between one catastrophic movement and the next and building something there.
