Cast & Lore

This is where ordinary city life crashes into something way stranger. Students, demons, dragons, they're all tangled up in this, whether they signed up for it or not.

Some are just trying to get through the day. Others are keeping some weird machine running that nobody talks about. What connects them? They're all stuck in something larger than themselves, and there's no easy way out.

Scroll down to see who's caught up in all this, the loud ones and the quiet ones alike.

The World

Earth

Life looks predictable from the outside. Work, school, the same faces in the same places, weekends that blur into each other. The rhythm of it is almost convincing.

Every now and then something doesn't fit. Someone shows up who carries themselves differently, like they've already been somewhere and came back quieter for it. Or a person who was unremarkable last year and isn't anymore, and nobody can quite say what changed. The difference is never dramatic enough to name. Just a weight behind the eyes that wasn't there before.

Most people don't notice. The ones who do usually decide they imagined it.

The world runs on that decision. On the comfortable agreement that what you see is what there is, that the strange thing you clocked for half a second in a stranger's expression was nothing, that doors are just doors. It is not a conspiracy. It is just easier.

But some stories don't start and end where they're supposed to. Some people come back from somewhere they won't describe. Some people don't come back at all, and the gap they leave behind is just small enough that life closes over it without much fuss.

The world isn't hiding anything, exactly. It just isn't as solid as it feels underfoot.

The Dungeon

Somewhere beyond the normal world there is something that has no name that stuck. Civilisations have tried. They built religions around it, sacrificed to it, called the energy washing back out a blessing from whatever god they needed it to be. None of that reached it. It was never listening.

It is not a place, exactly. It exists between worlds, accessible through doors that shouldn't go where they go. A corridor that doesn't match the building around it. A threshold that opens somewhere else entirely. It has been pulling things through those doors for longer than anyone can measure, and it will keep doing so long after the people reading this are gone.

It is hungry. That is the only thing that has ever been true about it without exception. Not malicious, not watchful, not cruel. Just hungry, the way a dark place is dark, because that is simply what it is.

Inside, it looks like a manor. Grand, old, the kind of place that feels like it should have a history. It has rules, routines, a structure that makes it feel almost manageable. Most people who pass through leave changed in ways they can't fully account for. The time moves wrong inside. The experiences don't map cleanly onto anything they knew before.

What stays consistent is the sensation that something underneath all of it is not quite satisfied. Not yet.

Hell

There's a place people reference but don't really discuss. Not the way you'd talk about everyday things. It appears in old myths, half-forgotten dreams, and jokes that feel a little too real.

It's not literally underground, but it feels lower somehow. Heavier. Like everything discarded or abandoned eventually sinks there.

If Earth is repetition and the Dungeon is hunger, this place is chaos. Constant movement and conflict. Kingdoms form and collapse before they're even named. Alliances shift faster than you can track them. Nobody feels secure, not even the ones supposedly in control.

Still, some call it home. Not because it's comfortable, but because a warzone can become familiar after long enough. Some try to maintain order. Some embrace the chaos. Some just want to make it through another day without losing ground or respect.

You don't really escape this place. Even if you physically leave, it marks you. Sometimes obviously. Sometimes quietly. But it's always there, just under the surface.
